I’m a Dubliner, a knitter, a geologist and mother of one (in chronological order!). After living and working in Germany for some years, I’ve returned to Dublin and am now studying psychology as a postgrad. I love reading, travelling (when I can afford it, which is not often enough) and curling up on the couch with my knitting, watching science fiction films. This summer we’ll be having a recession-style holiday (aka staying at home), so I’ve decided to enjoy my native city to the full and share my impressions here. Not to mention knitting projects and freshly inspired designs….watch this space!
wonderful photos – incredible your skill! I am truly humbled by your knitting – you’ve elevated it high above craft to art. Each piece has a story – just how many hours do they represent? Fall is coming to Vermont, the colors have begun to fade – one massive burst of reds, orange and golds and they’ll all drop. One weekend’s all you need to go from a tapestry of color to brown and gray. Then, the knitting begins…
Hi Pauline – I’ve nominated your site for an award – hope this isn’t too foward, but I got so excited when I was chosen and thought of you – your knitting, your posts are wonderful. If you want to accept this award, go to my site at: http://susanbahr.com/2012/09/15/an-amazing-piece-of-history/ and follow the instructions.
I hope you continue to post – and show us some of Dublin! For now, with the recession, I, too, have to be an arm-chair traveler. I’ve told my husband, he’s to take me to Ireland for our 25th anniversary. You think 2 years will be enough time for us to get that together? Let’s hope so…. cheers to you and your delightful blog- Susan
Dear Susan, Thank you for the award, I’m really chuffed, because I only started recently and had been warned not to expect any traffic at all in the beginning! I’ve yet to figure out how to put it, and the various links, up in a post, ‘cos I’m better at knitting than computing, but I’m learning fast! In the meantime, there’ll be a little taste of Georgian architecture for you tomorrow morning (show your husband, too)…. All the best, Pauline
yeah! I’m so glad you’re diving in! The blog-water’s great. As to the award – just know it’s a nod that you’re appreciated and encouragement to keep going.
Looking forward to the pics tomorrow. The whole family will gather around for the viewing.
take care,
Sue

Thanks for visiting my blog! Your knitting is truly amazing and beautiful. And I enjoyed the Dublin tours, especially the yarn shops. I was not yet knitting when I was in Dublin in 2009. Now I have a great reason to return: yarn quests! The moon rocks were way cool as well!
Thank you! I hope I’ve triggered happy memories…
